As the date of delivery approached it became clear that certain preparations had to be made for the proper accommodation of this new instrument. The historic choir placement in a side transept had never been satisfactory acoustically and the placement of the console of the present organ was poorly suited to both the liturgy and choral conducting.

Under the guidance of James Bailey Architect a number of alternative solutions were investigated and championed through four levels of approval: the Choir, the Heritage Committee, Session and the Congregation. The scope of work included the relocation of the new console, reconfiguration of the choir stalls, extension of the chancel area into the nave, and the replacement of the carpeting within all these areas by new hardwood. In addition the organ chambers were reinsulated and finished with double G.W.B. in order to moderate temperature swings and increase acoustical resonance. The actual reconstruction took only two weeks and only one service of worship had to be scheduled in other premises.

Casavant Opus 3864, and the associated chancel renovations, were dedicated on Sunday, June 24, 2007 and acclaimed to be a great success.
