The scope included a main workshop area, offices, a kitchenette, an accessible washroom and storage. The services of a mechanical/electrical consultant, as well as an acoustician were retained in order to address the specific requirements of a small performance space within an existing commercial/residential building. Materials suitable for the use of the space were selected to provide an acoustically controlled environment – cork floor tiles throughout, additional insulation in walls and doors and curved acoustic ceiling panels. Heavy drapery was used to black-out the storefront windows, as well as to provide a visual and acoustic separation between the main space and the supporting spaces for maximum flexibility of the relatively small space. Colours and finishes were carefully chosen to suit the function of the space for theatrical use, as well as to provide a lighter and more vibrant colour scheme within the office and kitchen spaces. An acoustically insulated window was introduced between the office area and the Workshop to allow for quick communication between the two spaces and to ensure a view of the main entrance door from the office for security.

The project was successfully completed in time for the scheduled season and was very well received by its users.
